Classic Victoria Sandwich Cake Mary Berry

Salam,

Fuhhh.... fuhhh tiup habuk2 and sawang2 kat blog ni. Kah kah kah..
Ok this is another recipe yg Cik Lyzz nk keep for future reference. Suke sangat kek ni.. Sangat classic.. tasty.. spongy, buttery and for me it brings a taste of nostalgia in every bite of it.

Teringat dulu2 masa tinggal dengan Arwah nenek... kek ni la nenek selalu buat. Tp dulu panggil butter cake j kot.. or maybe we called it kek planta. Hehe.. Arwah nenek dulu guna planta, x pakai butter pon. Kalau time raya Arwah Atok akan beli planta tin besar tu untuk buat biskut and kek.

Lagend tol.. ***Cry   (T T) **

And dulu nenek punya kek sapu dengan jem stoberi atas permukaan dia.. pastu tabur kelapa kering. Sedap tau bila kita rasa lembut dari kek span tu.. pastu rasa masam2 manis dr jem, and lemak2 garing dr kelapa kering tu.. perghhh.. ( Ok rindu all those Arwah's which were closed to my heart. Alfatihah for them.. )

Those who like to check the original recipe.. can view THIS link from BBC- Food.
This recipe is from Mary Berry.. i like it since i found it was the simplest VSC cake ever and turn out well. Hardly to fail. All you need to do is weight all the ingredient in same amount, dump all the ingredient in large bowl and mixed its with your mixer until well incorporated. Do not overmixed and then pour in your baking tin.. and lets the oven do their job for u.. huhu

Mini VSC in cuppy size... I used non stick cupcake pan

Ingredients

  • 4 free-range eggs ( Make sure its A size )
  • 225g/8oz caster sugar, plus a little extra for dusting the finished cake ( Cik Lyzz dusting using icing sugar )
  • 225g/8oz baking spread, margarine or soft butter at room temperature, plus a little extra to grease the tins ( Used the good quality of butter will give more impact to the result. Cik Lyzz used Anchor, it sold at 225g, so it is just ready to be used.. ;) )
To serve

Preparation method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. ( Cik Lyzz punya oven 160C api atas bawah )
  2. Grease and line 2 x 20cm/8in sandwich tins: use a piece of baking or silicone paper to rub a little baking spread or butter around the inside of the tins until the sides and base are lightly coated. Line the bottom of the tins with a circle of baking or silicone paper (to do this, draw around the base of the tin onto the paper and cut out).
Technique: Greasing and lining cake tins
  3. Break the eggs into a large mixing bowl, then add the sugar, flour, baking powder and baking spread.
  4. Mix everything together until well combined. The easiest way to do this is with an electric hand mixer, but you can use a wooden spoon. Put a damp cloth under your bowl when you’re mixing to stop it moving around. Be careful not to over-mix – as soon as everything is blended you should stop. The finished mixture should be of a soft ‘dropping’ consistency – it should fall off a spoon easily.
  5. Divide the mixture evenly between the tins: this doesn’t need to be exact, but you can weigh the filled tins if you want to check. Use a spatula to remove all of the mixture from the bowl and gently smooth the surface of the cakes.
  6. Place the tins on the middle shelf of the oven and bake for 25 minutes. Don't be tempted to open the door while they're cooking, but after 20 minutes do look through the door to check them.
  7. The cakes are done when they’re golden-brown and coming away from the edge of the tins. Press them gently to check – they should be springy to the touch. Remove them from the oven and set aside to cool in their tins for five minutes. Then run a palette or rounded butter knife around the inside edge of the tin and carefully turn the cakes out onto a cooling rack
  8. To take your cakes out of the tins without leaving a wire rack mark on the top, put the clean tea towel over the tin, put your hand onto the tea towel and turn the tin upside-down. The cake should come out onto your hand and the tea towel – then you can turn it from your hand onto the wire rack.
  9. Set aside to cool completely.
  10. To assemble the cake, place one cake upside down onto a plate and spread it with plenty of jam. If you want to, you can spread over whipped cream too.
  11. Top with the second cake, top-side up. Sprinkle over the caster sugar.

Chocolate Cheese Tart

Tarrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... tempting tak tgk cheese tart Cik Lyzz??
Senang j tau nk buat..easy pessy j..

Sebenarnye idea nk buat ni bila tgk kat restoran Aaron Aziz Kids and Cream ada Nutella cheese tart.
Ramai yg kata marvelous sangat tart tu siap ramai yg tapau bawak balik lagi lepas cuba..

Cik Lyzz pon geram nengoknye.. try la google the recipe.. Tp xde stock nutella pulak kat rumah.
Ade choc masakan untuk buat kek.. ok boleh la. Project on.
Huhu..

Eh, apehal ada buah dragon ni plak kan...
Hehe.. sebenarnye saje nk info sikit.. Cik Lyzz ada baca kalau kita start our day by eating any fruits before breakfast, akan baikkan system penghadaman..boleh hilangkan kedut2, eyebag and awet muda, sbb senang body system nk absorb all the nutrition from the fruit itself kalau kita mkn buah buahan dulu before any meals.

Selama ni makan buah as dessert kan? apa kata lepas ni kita tukar sikit.. makan buah as a starter.
So far, untuk Cik Lyzz.. belom nampak apa2 lagi la. Masih lagi x awet muda.. x glowy kalau x pakai camera 360..masih lagi kena pakai eyeliner untuk cover eyebag.. haha..

Tapi one thing is.. Cik Lyzz dapat balik routine membuang like everyday.
Everyday mesti buang sekali. ok la kan.. tu j yg Cik Lyzz perasan buat masa ni.
Cik Lyzz dah amalkan like half month. InsyaAllah akan teruskan j la.

Dragon fruit and green apple for starter of the day

Yummm... kalau boring hari2 mkn buah, boleh j buat jus.
Allright, back to our main topic.. The Chocolate Cheese Tart recipe from Joyofbaking
Check it out
Bahan2 :

1 cawan tepung
sedikit tepung jagung
1/3 cawan icing sugar
a pinch of salt

1/2 cawan cold butter ( potong kecik2 )

Masukkan all in food processor.. then blend sampai jadi crumble.. ( Kalau xde food proccessor, boleh rub j butter dgn tepung sampai habis. )

Dah siap.. tekan2 adunan td ke dalam tart mould. Make sure tepung tu cover the whole tin evenly.
(Boleh guna belakang sudu untuk ratakan permukaan tepung )
Then, rest kan dlm fridge for about 20min supaya butter and tepung firm sikit untuk dapatkan crust yg rangup, Sementara tu boleh la pre heat oven 180-200'c. Bakar crust sampai masak for about 15-20min,

Bila dah masak, keluarkan crust dr oven, dan rest kan. ( sejukkan dia di redai )

Untuk Filling :

250g cream cheese
1 cup whipping cream
2biji telur
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Vanilla assence

Pukul cream cheese dgn gula sampai lembut. then masukkan telur, whip cream and vanila assence.
Pukul lagi sampai kembang and sebati.
Tuang adunan ke dalam crust td.. dan bakar lagi sampai cheese kekuningan and masak.

( Kalau nk buat Strawberry/blueberry or whatever flavor, boleh mix kan skali the puree dlm adunan cheese before baking. Or can also use fresh berry campak j atas cheese batter tu before bakar. Tips : kalau guna flavor buah2 seperti strawbery, blueberry, etc, please add lemon juice into the cheese batter and omit vanilla assence, It will make the cheese taste really good. )

Topping:

1/2 choclate bar
2 sudu besar serbuk koko
Susu pekat secukupnya
1 sudu butter

Cairkan chocolate bar dengan kaedah double boil.
Masukkan serbuk koko, susu pekat and butter.. kacau sebati sampai all the ingredient well incorporated.

Tuang choklat atas cheese tart tadi. Chill before serve.

Gamba ni just right after tuang the choc ganache... x sabar nk potong.. tp kena chill dulu kejap. Bagi dia set.
Cheese tart ni sesuai untuk cheese lover macam kami la.. rasa shortbread nye yg rangup and masin2 sikit.. tambah pulak dgn rasa cheesy dari cream cheese kat tengah2 with topping dia choc ganache. Sila bayangkan... bila kita gigit..krupppp, rangup masin2, then ada rasa lemak manis chocolate blending together... hulaaaaaaaa......yebaaa yebaaaaaa...

Tak ingat daah nk diet ke ape... masa makan tu.. pejam mata sikit.. and nikmati lah setiap rasa yg ada dlm mulut tu.. hehehehe.... lebih2 pulak Cik Lyzz ni kan.

Penat cari tart mould... x jumpa. Last2 pakai j la baking tin untuk buat kek tu.. guna yg loosing pan, senang nnt nk keluarkan crust dia.

Eat me!!!

Cekodok pisang rangup di luar.. lembut kat dalam. Must try!

Hi salam...

Today Cik Lyzz nk share satu resepi simple from our daily food.
Cik Kodok Pisang nii... Dapp tau. Garing kat luar...tp still lembut kat dalamnye.
Yg penting mesti banyak pisang dari tepung. Baru kaw.

Cekodok rangup..
Da lama cari resepi cekodok pisang yg garing kat luar... bila gigit rangup, tp kaya rasa pisang.
Ok rahsia nya senang j.. kena guna brown sugar.

Moh kitew check bahan2 and cara2nya :

4-5biji pisang
Tepung Gandum 1 cawan ( masukkan sedikit demi sedikit sampai adunan ok. Maybe kite guna less of this or more. Bergantung pada size pisang jugak. )
1-2sudu besar gula perang
1-2 sudu besar gula pasir
soda bikarbonat ( optional.. x bubuh pon xpe . And Cik Lyzz x bubuh pon )
sedikit garam
Minyak untuk menggoreng

Cara2 :

1. Blend pisang, gula perang, gula pasir, garam and soda bikarbonat. Jangan blend lama sangat.
2. Perap 15-30 min.. ( ni la rahsianya... kita perap biar gula tu caramelised, baru la hasilkan kerangupan di luar cekodok tu nnt. )

3. Panaskan minyak..
4. Masukkan tepung kedalam adunan pisang td. Jangan terlalu lembik...dan tak terlalu keras.
Just nice boleh jemput dengan tangan..ok dah tu.
5. Jemput kan pisang kedalam minyak panas... goreng sampai kuning keemasan.

Dah siap.. mudah and yum yum yum..

Ada dua tone.. satu terlebih sudah.. hehe
